Complete Registration & Obtain Course Materials:

      You must complete both steps below to register and obtain course materials!

STEP #1

Start by registering for the course on the ACOEM website. Click here to start registration. It is possible to register for the PS course without registering for the rest of the conference, just follow the prompts.

STEP #2

To access your online course materials, use the code emailed to you by ACOEM after you have completed step #1. Use that code to register with CAOHC (at no charge) via the green button above. During this step, you will also have the option to register for the PS/A certification exam at an added cost ($225 for newly certifying, $175 for re-certifying.) You must pass the PS exam to be certified and utilize the PS/A designation.

Note: If you register with CAOHC (Step #2 above) and later want to add the PS/A certification exam, you will need to contact the CAOHC office to have your registration changed manually.

PS Course Overview

The Professional Supervisor of the Audiometric Monitoring Program© (PS/A) Course is an intermediate-level, full-day course. It emphasizes the real-world application of audiology expertise as encountered in occupational settings. Lectures review the current literature and practice guidelines. Instructors present employee case studies for participant problem-solving, critical thinking and small-group discussion. Case presentations discuss PS responsibilities, guidelines for managing problem audiograms and determination of work-relatedness.

During course attendance, please be prepared with a fully charged laptop as well as a backup power source.

Time Commitment:

8+ hours of preliminary course work are expected to be completed prior to the start of the in-person instruction.

Audience

This workshop is intended for audiologists, physicians (MD, DO) and otolaryngologists who supervise and review audiometric testing from hearing loss prevention (HLP) programs. Other hearing conservation-related professionals are also invited to participate in this course; however, are not eligible to take the certification exam. Participants should have prior understanding of governmental regulations and components of hearing loss prevention programs and interest or experience in making work-related determinations for occupational noise-induced hearing loss.

Cancellation Policy

If registration is cancelled (2 weeks prior to the course) participant will receive a refund of their fee (-) a $150.00 processing fee. No refund will be granted for cancellations received after this date, however, the amount can be applied to a future course.

The program is worth a maximum of  1.7 CEUs (17 hours).
